Right and Proper Society of the Iron Mantis
Little is known about the origin of the Right and Proper Society of the Iron Mantis. The order seems to have been founded in Drotid, presumably by shaahesk. However, its most prominent monastery was located in Mikona, though that building now lies abandoned. It is unknown if the society died out completely or simply retreated to the land of its origin.
The Right and Proper Society, also known as the Iron Mantis Sect, preached physical and spiritual perfection, and their training methods included meditation as well as intense physical training, to the point of abuse. However, unlike many monk orders who abstain from worldly desires and remain neutral in political matters, the Iron Mantis Sect sought to accumulate wealth and power.
Though originating in Drotid, most if not all of the monks in the sect encountered in southern Negaria were not shaahesk. Its most prominent member in Mikona was Dok, a halfling and former slave of the shaahesk. Other notable members of the Mikona monastery were Zachar Mordecai and Edward Von Ravenstone.
The Iron Mantis Sect was perhaps most notably remembered for its fighting style. Derived from its namesake animal, the Iron Mantis Style focused on quick, focused attacks with dual kamas.
