When this spell is cast, the caster chooses to be protected from either Good or Evil. The caster receives the following benefits versus attackers of the chosen alignment for the duration of the spell: +4 Deflection AC, +4 to Saving Throws, Damage Shield 1d8 + 1/caster level against creatures every time that they successfully strike the caster, Immunity to Mind-Affecting Spells and Spell-Like Abilities, and 25 SR.

Party members inside the caster's aura receive the following benefits versus attackers of the chosen alignment: +1/10 caster levels to Deflection AC and Saving Throws, Damage Shield 1d8 + 1/10 caster levels against creatures every time that they successfully strike the aura target, and Immunity to Mind-Affecting Spells and Spell-Like Abilities.

  • For party members inside the aura: If the aura target's alignment is the opposite of the vs. alignment value, the vs. effect bonus is doubled. E.g., A good creature in a 'vs. Evil' aura, or an evil creature in a 'vs. Good' aura will get +2/10 CL.

Note 1: Both the Damage Shield and SR effects do not respect the vs. alignment effect due to a Beamdog limitation, so they protect vs. all targets, regardless of alignment.

Note 2: Aura vs. Chaos (Justicar epic feat) and Aura vs. Law (Confounder epic feat) have the same benefits for the caster, but do not give the same benefits for aura targets, and both have double the duration (2 Rounds/Level).

  • Benefits for Aura vs. Chaos\Law aura targets: +4 to Deflection AC, +2 to Saving Throws, Damage Shield 1d8 + 6, and Immunity to Mind Spells.
