Bedlam stands between 5'9" and 5'11" depending on his mood and posture. His body is not muscular, fat, nor wiry, but somewhere in between.  Being not entirely masculine, though not extremely feminine, he may appear adrogynous to some. His body is spotted with tattoos in seemingly random locations and themes from his neck, to his wrists, to his ankles. None of his tattoos would be visible while wearing long sleeves and long pants. His blue eyes, wide and full of life, cast a penetrating stare.  Mostly he smiles, showing his pearly white teeth, though lately, his smile has seemed to fade.
The smell of ozone wafts about his tall supple frame as the quiet crackle of energy accompanies his every movement. White hair frames his smooth, ageless face in an almost gentle cascade standing in perpetual contrast to his intense deep ruby red eyes. From his forehead sprouts two ivory horns twisting gracefully skyward. His eyes catch your attention as ever changing flecks of color appear and disappear bringing a life to his red irises that almost seems its own. His demeanor emanates a deep calm, a remarkable self discipline, and a sense of intense control.

He wears exquisite and extravagant clothing made of exotic fabrics. His cloak and hood are made of the finest silk and linen, embroidered with golden thread to resemble flames licking the edges of the garmentWhen not in his Trust robe he dons the finest tailored suits complete with solid gold buckles and fine silken frills. He is also quite well known for his dragonhide longcoat that was custom tailored for him by Sophie at the BKW in Ferrell.
Bedlams clothes are always freshly pressed and worn with careHe favors reds, blacks, and deep blues as well as gold accents and embellishments. You can usually find two holy symbols of the God Andrinor on fancy gold chains wrapped around his wrists.

Bedlam is quite easy going and generally fun to be around. He enjoys laughing, magic, good conversation, and the company of women. He does prefer women, but has been known to swing either way. "A good time is a good time" he'd say.
Bedlam loves to laugh. He can be seen smiling most of the time. He tends to find something to enjoy in just about everything. As much as he likes to laugh he likes to flirt. He doesn't care much about who he's flirting with, as long as he's flirting, and winking, and teasing, and just playing the game. His real passion, though, is magic.
 
He dislikes authority, claiming that its oppressive and unfun. He also doesn't like competitiveness, rudeness, or snakes.


His free time is mostly spent thinking up new and outlandish theories concerning magic or researching and experimenting with odd techniques. He doesn't mind the danger involved in some of his experiments writing it off as a necessary danger to advance arcane knowledge.  
As happy as he may usually seem, Bedlam is quite well known for his drastic mood swings.  One moment he can be laughing and having a great time, and for reasons known only to him, he could then be at someones throat, or blowing something up out of spite.  


Bedlam believes that he may die at any given time, and expects to wake up dead each and every morningThis may make him to appear brave in the face of danger when in fact, he just constantly thinks his time has come.

Bedlam was the first child of a very large family living on the outskirts of Elysia.  His father was a cattle farmer and his mother was Romini and was a vintner. His father was very hard on Bedlam, but always kinder to the younger children.  Sometimes his father would beat him when no one else was present and threaten him with further violence if he told anyoneBedlam hated his fatherHis mother, Mary, on the other hand, seemed to show him special attention.   
Bedlam was raised by his Romini parents in Elysia. His relationship with his father was strained, almost as if his father resented him.  In his youth, he was quite a trouble makerWriting it off as him being unfocused, his parents did not discipline him.  When he was about the age of fourteen, Bedlam blew up his parents home in a freak accident that not only left him homeless, but also parentless, as they picked up and moved to Mikona to be away from their tiny menace. He grew up alone in his teenage years, wandering aimlessly from job to job making what little money he needed to get by. He found guidance, if you can call it that, through the worship of [[Forian|Forian]].
 
As Bedlam grew he began to notice a budding knack for the arcane boiling inside of him. Fearful of his father, he didn't tell anyone at all. He practiced in secret, mostly during the night when his family was asleep. He'd sneak out of the house and into the woods to see how far he could push himself.


It was about this time that Bedlam realized that he had a knack for the arcaneTaking his magic for granted, Bedlam all but ignored any sort of formal training to harness his abilitiesAs he grew older and bolder, he began to experiment more and more with his magic.  It wasn't until he joined the Red Order of the Flame that he began to understand his talents and began taking more of an interest in the mechanics of it allAfter meeting with Burnest Gorria, Bedlam had found a way to put his personality, talents, and mindset to good use in the study of wild magic.   
When Bedlam was about 13 years old, his father took the family into town to sell some cattle.  He left Bedlam at home to watch over things until his return at sundown.  Having the house all to himself wasn't something Bedlam was used to so he took advantage of it.  He practiced casting some cantrips on some items around the house, illuminating bowls and lighting candlesAlways the curious lad, Bedlam had to see if he could do more.  He had no training at all, had never even spoken to another mage about anything related to the arcaneIn hindsight, he probably should have tried to get some idea of what he was doing. Bedlam began casting as many spells as he could, as fast as he could, on any and everything in the house.  It didn't take long for things to go awry.  No one is really sure what happened exactly, or why, or where the fire started, but it is known that the blaze engulfed the entire house and burned it to the groundPanicking, and not knowing what to do, Bedlam waited for the fire to burn down to a smolder and he ventured into the charred remains of the house to try to salvage anything he could.   


With very little regard to his own personal safety, Bedlam took to the practice of wild magic very well.  His technique was well suited, his need for discipline was right in line with it, and having finally found his place in the world Bedlam jumped in feet first.  He has since become a devout follower of Andrinor, taken on the position of the Senior Magus of Wild Magic at the Red Order of the Flame, and is happily continuing his studies in the field.
As the sun started to set behind the trees of T'Nanshi Bedlam had considered just running away.  He thought his father would kill him.  Here he stood, a scrawny red headed kid barely a teenager in the smoking midst of what used to be his home.  And then came his father with the family.  Some of the children cried, some of them were just speechless.  His mother looked at him with both disappointment and compassion.  His father, though, was uncharacteristically quiet.  Bedlam made his way out of the debris to try to explain things.  His father approached him and Bedlam reflexively shielded his face with his arms.  His father didn't hit him.  He didn't even raise his hand.  He just said to him "You are no son of mine." turned, and took his family and left.  His mother looked back with tears in her eyes.  His father put his arm around her hips and gently pulled her along.  That was the last Bedlam saw of his father.

Bedlam was left in Elysia with no where to go and no one to turn to.  Luckily, Bedlam was a natural charmer.  People liked him and he knew that.  He sometimes took advantage of that, playing to their sympathy to get some food or shelter for the night.  As he grew into adolescence he knew he needed some guidance.  He soon found this "guidance" in the worship of Forian.
