The in separable union of these two peoples has meant that Kal-Gar has rumoured to appear as a grey wolf or a white ferret, representing the Halfling heritage of the clan.

History

Kal-Gar Clan started out as a small community of Halflings from Ferrell many moons ago. The adventurous community set sail for new opportunities. Like all classic explorers there is always a story behind how they ended up in the most unlikely of places. The short version of this tale was they were chased by pirates, to which they managed to evade but in the process took a lot of water and set sail to the nearest dry land. How they managed to settle in Tyedu without meeting a horrible fate? It's a combination of stories but one of the most likely of all was the Halflings being of a small stature, did not pose a threat to other local clans.

The small Halfling community released quickly that Tyedu lands were harsh, hard and dangerous. If they were going to survive the Halflings needed to learn quickly the ways of the land and its people. The community had various trade skills in carpentry, trapping, fishing, trading and negotiation, which aided them greatly over the coming months. A local Barbarian Tribe lead by a Chieftain called Frigar noticed how industrious and resourceful the Halflings were. The Frigar Clan kept their distance from the Halflings but watched over them for many months with curiosity. Soon after the Halflings settled on the coast of Tyedu, Frigar appeared one night to the Halflings wounded and covered with many battle wounds. Frigar had only that night defeated a challenger for leadership of the Clan but he had taken many serious wounds in the duel. It was highly unlikely he would survive the night. In an act of desperation for their clan Chieftain, the Frigar clan’s Eldar’s decided to drag Frigar by oxen down to the Halfling settlers, to see if they could help him. The Halflings took Frigar in and began to tend to his wounds and over time Frigar returned to full health. He owed them a life debt and in time began to love the Halflings as his brothers & sisters. Frigar decided to merge his clan with the Halfling community for both clans to be strong and prosperous. A Spirit-Kin had been watching this story unfold for a great length of time and had taken growing interest into the developments of these two races. She decided to watch over them and develop mantels of interest that the two races shared. The Spirit-Kin appeared to the Frigar’s tribe as a Grey Wolf and passed on knowledge of the Blood Rage and the other Spirit-Kin appeared to the Halflings as a White Ferret and passed the knowledge of the lands and trade. After the spirit god revealed itself, the Clan renamed itself in honour of their Spirit Gods, Clan Kal-Gar. Kal for the Grey Wolf and Gar for the White Ferret.

Frigar Berserkers

Frigar was a Berserker and The Spirit God Kal-Gar blessed him with the ritual knowledge of two Rages to help aid the berserker in combat. One was of the Blood rage and the second was the Wind rage. Traditionally the Blood Berserkers were the humans of the clan and the Wind Berserkers were the Halfling race of the clan Frigar began to teach chosen Tyeduans the ways of these Rages, with various rituals performed in preparation. One of the key preparation for the Blood Rager is the hunting of challenging prey. Similar to Pelarites, Frigar Berserkers hunt big challenging prey, the more deadly the prey the stronger the rage and after slaying their pray, the Frigar Berserker drains five vials of blood. The rest of the blood is left to drain into the ground to nourish the soil. Clan Kal-Gar is located by the sea on a large bay which catch’s northerly winds which blow around the bay. These winds blow strong and when they do, the carry a lot of dust. These dust winds are harvested by the Halfling Berserkers to help fuel their Wind Rage. The berserker carries out a small ritual offering to Kal-Gar to infuse the blood or dust with a blessing for the blood rage. They inhale a similar herb like mellowsmoke to clear the mind and connect with the Spirit God and in a trace like state, allowing them mighty rages in battle.
